School Boards Serving the Heart Lake Area
How to check catchments with the Peel and Dufferin-Peel Catholic school boards for any Heart Lake address.

Schools are near the top of most family buyers' checklists. In the Heart Lake area of North Brampton, two publicly funded boards serve residents. This guide explains who they are, how catchments work, and how to confirm the schools your future address is assigned to.
The two boards
Public and Catholic education in this part of Peel Region is delivered by two boards. The Peel District School Board runs the public English-language system across Peel Region, including Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon. The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board runs the publicly funded Catholic English-language system across the same area. Both are large boards with schools throughout Brampton.
How catchments work
Each board assigns every address in its area to specific schools by catchment, sometimes also called a boundary or attendance area. Catchments can change year to year as enrolment shifts, new schools open, or boundaries are redrawn. That means a school that serves one address today may not serve it in a few years, and vice versa.
Because catchments change, we deliberately do not list specific schools on this site. The right way to check any address is to use the official school locator that each board publishes.
How to check a school for a specific address
For public schools
Use the Peel District School Board's official school locator, usually accessed from the board's main website. Enter the address and the locator returns the elementary and secondary schools currently assigned to that address.
For Catholic schools
Use the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board's official school locator, accessed from that board's main website. Enter the address to see the currently assigned elementary and secondary Catholic schools.
Specialised programs
Both boards offer specialised programs alongside standard programs. Examples include French immersion, extended French, arts programs and various academic streams at the secondary level. Some programs have their own catchments or entry criteria that differ from the regular boundary. If a specialised program matters to your decision, contact the board directly to understand entry, transportation and timing.
Transportation
Both boards run student transportation through Student Transportation of Peel Region. Eligibility depends on distance and grade. Once you have a confirmed home address, you can check transportation eligibility with the transportation service. Do not assume yellow-bus service to a specific school without confirming.
What we can and cannot tell you
We can tell you the two boards that serve the Heart Lake area and how to check catchments on their official locators. We deliberately do not name specific schools for a Spruce Trails address, quote catchment stability, or share third-party school rankings. Those are decisions for you and your family based on official, current information from the boards themselves.
